Troubleshooting

  1. Plugin not active — verify it is activated in wp-admin.
  2. Security token changed — regenerate from the plugin and update in WP Smart.
  3. .htaccess blocking API requests — check that /wp-json/ is not blocked.
  4. Site is offline — check uptime from your hosting.
  5. Security plugin blocking REST APIs — check Wordfence or similar settings.

  1. Another backup is running — wait or check for an active backup lock.
  2. Storage exhausted — delete old backups to free up space.
  3. WP-Cron disabled — check wp-config.php for DISABLE_WP_CRON.

  1. Very large number of files — wait before retrying.
  2. Outdated plugin — update to the latest WP Smart plugin version.

  1. Check the spam/junk folder.
  2. Add notifications@wpsmart.io to your safe contacts.
  3. Verify the notification is not disabled in Account → Notifications.

  1. Use Forgot password? on the login page.
  2. Check the spam folder for the reset email.
